1) Everyone that rides a motorcycle on a road must have a CBT or Certificate of Basic Training
2) Because it was brought about by the Driving Standard Agency in order to reduce motorcycle accidents on a road when first applying for your motorcycle licence
3) The CBT will cost you £90.00 for the day. This includes the hire of the bike and supply of helmet, gloves and waterproofs for the day
4) If you are using your own bike for the CBT, the cost will be £75.00, but you must make sure that your machine has insurance cover, a current MOT and a current excise licence
5) We supply a helmet, gloves and waterproofs for the day at no extra cost to you, but if you do have some riding equiment such as your own Safety Helmet, we advise you to use your own
6) The CBT is a not a TEST. We cover everything that is in the sylabus and after all has been covered on the training site, we take you out on the road for two hours. This is not a test, you are hooked up to radio communications so that we can talk to you. What we are doing is making sure you are safe to be out there on the public roads. If you are not ready after we have done all of the site work, we ask you to come back for more 'Off' road training. We will not take you out on the road unless you are ready and we are happy to do so.
7) The Driving Standard Agency are the governing body for learner rider training, and they lay out a sylabus for the training bodies to adhere to
8) The CBT lasts for 2 years, and if you have not passed your learner rider test within those two years, you just retake your CBT again
9) We do not expect you to wear leathers, but if you do have some protective clothing, we advise you to wear it. You must however wear some apporpriate clothing to keep you warm if it is cold etc
10) The CBT will normally take a full day. Normally, there are a number of students taking the CBT with you so we always advise that it will take the whole day to complete
11) We do not provide food for students, but we do supply drinks. We advise students if they wish, to bring a packed lunch should they wish
12) At 16 years of age, you can hold a driving licence wich will enable you to ride a machine up to 50cc be it an automatic moped or a geared machine. At 17 years of age upwards, you can ride a machine of a 125cc capacity, either an automatic or geared machine.
13) We do cater for the nervous student. We will not 'PUSH' you. We are very patient and will work with you and if you are not ready to go out on the road, we will stay with you on the training area or ask you to come back another day to suit you, for more off road training. We will help you every step of the way

1) For a Direct Access Course, You have to Be 21 Years of age or above
2) Yes, once you have passed the Direct Access test, you are allowed to go and buy the bike of your dreams
3) The cost depends on you. We can work your course to suit your needs, be it 4 hour sessions or a full day of training. We aim to please and help in every way we can, so give us a call to discuss your needs
4) Yes. You will have to take your theory test before we can book your riding test. We can book it for you, but it is easy to book your theory via the Driving Standard Agency web site. You choose which centre you want to go to and then follow the leads on the web site
5) Yes. We offer a learner pack which includes the CD Rom and books to help you study. We also allow you to come along and use our computer system if you do not have one at home
6) We would not take you out on the road if you were not safe. We have a large training area where you can get used to the bike and build your confidence before going out on the road.
7) We use a number of machines like all training bodies. They are all clean and well maintained. You do not have to worry about anything
8) Yes, you can use your own bike providing it is of the required size.
9) The Examiner is out on the road with you for about 40 minuts or so
10) Yes. Before going out on the road, the Examiner will ask you a 'Show Me Tell Me' question. These are quite easy as they are common sense questions, and we do go through them with you before you go for your test. The Examiner may also ask you a question about Pillion Passengers, this will be asked when you return to the test centre, and again, they are easy.
11) During the test you will cover a number of hazards as you travel the route. You may go out on a fast dual carriageway or where there is a National Speed Limit where you need to get up to speed and show the Examiner you have confidence. You will also be asked to perform a 'U' turn, 'Emergency Stop', 'Pull Away from Behind a Parked Vehicle', all is covered during your course
12) Yes. It is a regulation that we have to go out on the road using a radio link. They only work one way, that is from trainer to student.
13) Yes but they are on a different frequency to what we run on when out training.
14) Normally, the Examiner follows you on a motorcycle, however, there are times when the Examiner may be following in a car. It does not matter, you just go out and rude your bike, The Examiner is in radio contact with you be it from a bike or a car
15) We accept cash, credit or debit cards but we do not accept cheques
