CBT

CBT or Compulsory Basic Training means exactly that, Compulsory and Basic. The CBT was introduced some years ago by the Driving Standard Agency (DSA) with a view to reducing the number of road accidents and casualties involving young riders. We think that statistics will prove over the past years, that the introduction of the CBT worked, and the number of young learner riders being injured on the roads, has been reduced.

Who Needs a CBT! Anyone wanting to ride a motorcycle on a Public Road needs to obtain a CBT Certificate. The exception to the rule is that if you already hold a FULL CAR Licence prior to 2001, and you wish to ride a moped under 50cc, then you are exempt.

The CBT course runs for a full day, and consists of a clothing chat, showing you around the machine, controls and then onto basic manouvres. We then discuss issues about riding out on the public road and finally, you are taken out on the road, equipped with a radio link to your instructor. This is not a test, just a lesson on road riding and procedures, and to equip you to deal with every day hazards.

We have a fully equipped off road area here in Stafford, which provides a safe environment for the basic manouvres. We supply for the day, helmets, gloves and waterproofs and, we are open SEVEN days a week except for Christmas Day of course! We cover Stafford, Lichfield, Cannock, Rugeley, Stoke on Trent and all of the surrounding areas.
